Andrew Lyons Design (ALD) is a Santa Fe-based company offering services in custom residential design, as well as owner’s representation and construction consulting for clients of all types.  

Our design work is tailored to the unique climate and history of the Southwest and northern New Mexico. Past residential projects range from Santa Fe south to Galisteo, north to Chimayo and Taos, and up into Colorado.  

All services offered by Andrew Lyons Design begin with the most basic of steps: listening to our client’s needs and desires.  This leads to solutions that work well with the inherent aesthetic, regulatory, and budgetary constraints applicable to the project.

In our residential designs, ALD draws inspiration from the indigenous architectural styles of the region--Pueblo Revival, Territorial, and Northern New Mexico Pitched Roofs—and re-interprets them for contemporary times. ALD has received two awards for residential projects in Santa Fe’s Historic Districts: one for preservation of an historic structure via extensive remodeling in 2004, and the second for a new residence that received recognition as the most-compatible infill project in 2019.

 ALD is also currently active with owner’s representation and construction consulting work at two large educational institutions in Santa Fe. Our expertise in construction consulting has also helped past residential clients receive the best quality of home possible. From decades of practice, ALD is well-versed in the local, state, and national codes, as well as with the complex design regulations that govern Santa Fe’s Historic Districts and assorted HOA’s in the area. 

Finally, ALD has experience in sustainable building methods.  We can incorporate technologies and materials that will reduce embodied energy in new structures and limit the energy-consumption footprint of new structures.
